BIODIVERSITY:
The Importance of Being Different
The project “ Biodiversity: the Importance of Being Different” keeps the Italian and the Slovenian communities together. As shown in the two attached postcards, the 2 partners met in Trieste on March 31st and in Udine on April 17th; more precisely the meeting took place in the area of Carso and the botanical gardens of Udine. The teenagers’ curiosity of getting to know each other matched with the pleasure of observing and comparing different kinds of plants in their spring blossom.
The communicative activities chosen for the exchange students included curious questions and simple dialogues where English was a means to discover the language of the other participant (Italian or Slovenian). Numbers and greetings in the foreign language were amusing moments ( see attached worksheets). The final production was a collection of Haikus, short poems mixing up emotions and vivid images linked to the exchange experience.
